Your First Call
This guide walks you through making your first outbound voice call. Before you start, make sure you have:
- An active Voxifi subscription (completed during sign-up)
- At least one AI assistant or workflow configured — go to AI Agents to create one
- At least one phone number — go to Phone Numbers to purchase one
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Navigate to Single Call
- Log in to app.voxifi.com
- Click Calls in the sidebar
- Click Single Outbound Call
Step 2: Select an Assistant or Workflow
From the Assistant/Workflow dropdown, choose the AI agent you want to use for this call. The dropdown shows all your active assistants and workflows.
No agents showing?
If the dropdown is empty, you need to create an AI agent first. Go to AI Agents in the sidebar and create one before returning here.
Step 3: Select a From Number
From the From Number dropdown, select the phone number the call will be placed from. If a phone number is assigned to your selected assistant, it will be pre-selected automatically.
No numbers showing?
You need at least one phone number to make calls. Go to Phone Numbers in the sidebar to purchase one.
Step 4: Enter the Recipient's Number
In the To Number field, enter the phone number you want to call in E.164 format — country code followed by the full number, no spaces or dashes:
- Australia:
+61412345678 - United States:
+14155551234 - United Kingdom:
+447911123456
The field validates the format as you type.
Step 5: Fill in Call Variables (if applicable)
If your selected assistant has call variables configured, a form will appear below the phone number fields with individual fields for each variable (e.g., first name, company, appointment time). Fill these in — they'll be passed to the AI during the call.
If no variables appear, your assistant doesn't use them and you can skip this step.
Step 6: Create the Call
Click Create Call. Voxifi will:
- Check that your account has sufficient balance — if not, a modal will appear asking you to top up before continuing
- Submit the call to the queue
- Show a Dispatching call... spinner while the call is being sent to the phone network
Once dispatched, you'll see a Call initiated successfully! confirmation with a call ID. Your phone should ring within a few seconds.
Call still queued?
If the confirmation shows Call queued (yellow banner) instead of success, the call was submitted but is taking longer than usual to dispatch. Check the Calls page — it will appear there once it's active.
Step 7: Review the Call
After the call ends:
- Click Calls in the sidebar
- Find your call in the list
- Click it to view the recording, full transcript, duration, and cost
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Solution |

| Insufficient balance modal appears | Top up your balance in Settings → Billing |
| "Invalid phone number" error | Check the format — must include country code, e.g. +14155551234 |
| No assistants in the dropdown | Create an AI agent first under AI Agents |
| No phone numbers in the dropdown | Purchase a phone number under Phone Numbers |
| Call goes to voicemail | Normal for some recipients — check your call history for the recording |
